Mollies vs Platys

Can anybody here please give me the easiest way of differentiating between mollies and platys?:wondering: As far as I am concerned (incorrectly offcourse) they are the same thing.

Except for the sailfin species is all mollys not black or marble? Platys and swords are usually all other colours. Or at least that is what I think.

Nope Roggerrabbit, good try there, but I have seen both in a variety of colours on the internet

Trying another guess, doesn't platys always have some black on the tail in varying degrees?
I know platys and swords can cross, and have ever read an article on artificially inseminating sword specifically for cross breed purposes, I wont be surprised if platys are not subject to that kind of treatment as well.

nope i have a pure orange platy rogerrabbit. iv noticed a difference in body shape mollies look more like bull dogs round the mouth lol thats how i tell.

Mollies more round and tend to be fatter :) hope that helps or google images and see :)
