View Full Version : My tank
So here a pic of my tank after trimming and a big water change. It's dimensions are: 104L X 35W X40H.

I will be renovating sometime in the next month.
I think I'm am going to take some of the black gravel out. Move the amazons back and reposition the wood and Indian fern. I will spread the vallis out more to cover the back and take some extra's out.
A little question: I have the intake on the left of the tank to my filter and the output to the right. Should I change this?

Beautiful!
Hi all.
Saw this pop up a while ago and thought is was another leaf forming, but it turned out to be a spike.
This is the first time one of me Echinodorus sp. has sent out a spike. Unfortunately the light burned off more than half of the buds, but I saved the rest. So after a little read, here the pics!

Superb!! Really stunning!! :)
So it's update time again. Yay!
I took out the 7 harlequins out and put in four black neons from another 3ft that I closed down. Harlequins went into my 250L with some Columbia tets.
The corys have laid eggs about 4-5 times with about 5 clutches more or less. Putting the current clutch into my comp tank. Hopefully they will hatch and survive...
I think I lost 1 neon the other day to some sort of stomach problem. I say this because I noticed it stomach just getting bigger and redder and now I can't seem to find it.
Other than that the fish have been fine.
Crypts have gone wild, amazons too. The amazons started sending out shoot, I now have 5 in total and 3 have got little plants with roots starting to form (when can I remove them?)
The amazons have been a bit or a curse too, because I want to close my canopy but I would have to clear the emmersed leaves.
But my favorite news is my anubia put out a flower. So glad about this!
Here are some pics...

Thanks for looking.
Firefly, what a stunning tank you have, the growth is really awesome. It looks like just now the Amazon is going to need it's own pot in your living room. I love your Cory eggs, I just wish I knew that I could move them, I would have had plenty by now... Good luck in getting them to hatch in your comp tank, it will be so awesome. Keep us posted!
Thanks for the reply Skye01
I too hope the eggs are successful but many of the batches haven't, due to me being to lazy to look after them.
I really need to sort out a quarantine tank now that the 3ft is empty.
Also need to give the plants a rather major trim, as in separate some of the crypts that are getting big.
I would have to clear the emmersed leaves. and this is why I have only 3 tanks with hoods - few things beat the growth above the waterline while the rest of the plant is below - it ties the thing together for me.
Congrats on the flowering... this is so cool.
