Welcome to TASA wolf. I'll leave the answers to your questions up to the 'plant experts' as I certainly am not one of them I'm afraid :)
Hi Wolf,
We'll let the plant experts help you on this one... but make sure you get the 'common' name. Some of the guys here show off by using the Latin names, and when you go to your LPS and ask for a 'something-majob-inde-kladigo" they look at you funny and offer you something in a bottle that you spray on your pet rat.
But I would definately agree that a planted tank is the way to go. I was all for plastic plants until Solex, Henk, Veegal and other members here convinced me otherwise. I started with 2 simple plants to make everyone happy... that way I could till keep the plastic one in. The slowly but surely I got more and more plants, and tossed out the plastic! What a waste of cash!
And now I think I want to keep a tank purely for the plants, and have the fish as bonus!
