I bought a pair of rams two weeks ago and a pair apistogramma cacatuoides a week ago. This evening while feeding my discus I notice that the rams and female apistogramma had disappeared not coming out to eat. I first look at the hole in the log where the female apistogramma usually hang around when the sunlight reflected her body I though she died then I shone a torch and noticed that the back of the log was covered in eggs and she was constantly cleaning or moving the eggs to another corner. The male is just roaming around the tank so means his job is now done. Then I looked in the other corner of the tank where the rams usually hang around this huge log and noticed the female still laying eggs but what puzzled me the male was egg the eggs. They are still very young so is this the norm for the male to egg up the batch of eggs he also chased her away from the area where she had laid the eggs.
