View Full Version : My 3ft
still new, and still alot of work to be done....6525
Ah, looking pretty already! Well done! At least you won't have evap issues with that top. My water level in my sump drops about 10cm a day!
eish thats alot, still need aload of plants, but that will be next month!!!!!!!Thanks Shibby
Starting of goog Vez. Add a background before you add some more plants.
is that diy co2 on the lid?
i dont like the backgrounds that much..... speedz, jip it is, hope it works....
Vis, thanks for the advice on the Siamese, i added him last night, has a few fights with my angels, as they keep nipping his tail, and then he got hold of a few of the angels, and ja, now they leave him alone..
i dont like the backgrounds that much
Add a plain black background and see what a big difference it makes.
What type of material must I use for the background??
If have something around just to check it first use it.
The LPS should sell plain black backgrounds, just look at the backside of the planted pics. There is one dark blue one that has black on the back side. Looks good both ways
cool, will try this weekend!
Got home last night, to find my Male Siamese flat on the bottom of the tank, as he swam up, I saw the tail fins are nipped off, so much for that idea, placed him back in my 1.5ft tank……
A few pics of the culprits, 4 angels, and then a pic of my plant hungry pleco, but he loves his driftwood, and leaving my plants alone!!!!!!!

evil angels! I had my siamese living with my angels for yrs with no problems untill he sadly passed away(natural causes). Recently put in a new siamese and still fine... Hope yours recovers :) However I have about 10 angels, so maybe thats why-they keep themselves busy.. Love ur pleco..theyre awsome fish :) Oh and we used black vinyl(sticker material) which we stuck onto the back of my tank. The other one I just painted-worked pretty well.
Thanks Kat, the thing is, my angels attacked in a “pack”, they leave him alone, for a while, then one moves in and as he starts nipping at him, the others also go at it, but thanks, will rather keep him safe in the other tank.
I love my angels, especially the one black one, (not the best of pictures) the one with the stripes, he has red eyes, wow, love that one!, want to get more neons in the tank, and a whole lot of plants!
I always said angels were given the wrong name. Keep a close eye on the
siamese for infection
I have a pair of black angels with red eyes, call them the twins. They are stunning. Also a white one with a yellow face. Angels are def one of my faves.. But mine are super chilled. The only time they ever showed aggression was when two of them spawned, but then they chased all the fish to the other side of the tank (other angels included) and only attacked if the others came near. Sounds like your angels have a serious attitude. Plants are good I also want to try and get some plants growing nicely in my tank..however pe doesnt have the best selection. I look forward to seeing how your tank develops :)

I don't like those fake backgrounds myself, so I just use a plain black one that I found on the back side of a fake one...looks really good on my tank and really brings out the colours of my fish...

I always said angels were given the wrong name.
Why? Would you rather call them Devils (jokes...lol)?
SAMB

SAMB
Just get yourself a breeding pair SAMB... then you will most DEFINATELY call them DEVILS.
Jip, no angels,,,haha.
okay, you all know the fish in my tank, can i add Ramz to the mix???
How are you diffusing the CO2. Looks like you just got the bare airline a few cm from surface, in front of hob. You need a diffuser on the end.
had a diffuser on, but when i took the pic, the diffuser fell in the tank, as i was fidling with the canopy, but im not doing the co2 anymore....

I notice your heater is vertical. I read somewhere it is better at an angle, so that the warm water rising do not give your thermostat a false reading.
really? thanks Tom.K, will gooi it at a angle, lol
thanks dude
