Hi guys,

I am sad to announce my Oscar "Ice cream" has died. The fish was in a separate tank after I bought them because I noticed one in the tank I bought them from was swimming funny and doing barrel rolls and nose dives into the sand. the pet shop owner said he got hurt but I took precautions and though to put the fish in a separate tank for a wile.

What can this be? I am worries about the last fish?

Symto:wondering:ms:
Loss of balance.
Heavy breathing.
Swimming head down,
barrel rolls into the sand
No visible spots.

This (http://www.waterlife.co.uk/waterlife/disease.htm) could be your fish's problem (I think it's option 7). Keep this site bookmarked...it is a nice reference site (thanks to High-wash for finding this and sharing)

thanks for the help! Both fish have sadly passed away. But the good news is that the pet shop owner agreed not to get any more painted fish. Yay and replace the dead fish with others!

My wife said she wants Oscars, I want a pair of convict chilids?

Any suggestions!

My vote will go to the oscars....the convicts will breed like rabbits if you get a pair. Also, convicts are aggressive compared to oscars. Oscars will be quite peaceful as long as you don't give them fish that they will consider as food.

I agree with your wife - Oscars are the way to go ... Convicts are the roaches of the fish world ...

i dont think it will survive postnet ultrafast deliveries ;-)) . its stil available to any one. the guy at the LFS gave me some wrong advise, and 'n 6cm oscar ended up in my 60L tank in Feb, its now only 18cm long!!!! back then i didnt do any research regarding aquariums, he said he was a expert!! and then i started searching google and found TASA, and realised his expert advise wat not very fruitful
