yes they are genetically altered fish that should be avoided.... right up there with parrot fish
apparently they are albino oscars who have been put through dyeing process that stuns growth and lifespan. I will refrain from an opinion till i am absolutely sure.
On the Oscars topic, are the longfinned oscars also ninja turtles, or are they legit?
Cheers

Any manmade / forced / interbred fish could only come from the likes of Hitlers' schientists...

:mad: If this is the case then I'll join you whilst we go and boycott the shop that sold them :mad: I confronted another shop-owner last weekend about selling dyed fish...not cool and any shop that insists on continuing stocking these fish will NOT have me as a customer.
Wingman - Please Please Stay away from them - I agree with Henk - any genetically altered fish or dyed fish should never be bought. This way the shop owners will stop buying them and the manufacturers will stop making them - yes I said making, they are not bred they are made...

I can get quite, let's say, emotional at things that are just plain WRONG!:bigsmile: I did however notice that since I performed with them a little, they don't seem to have ordered more.....that I've seen in any case (I think the threat of a boycott did the trick)
I also don't subscribe to the practice of creating ninja turtles (as the prof call them) but I do love laughing my butt off when Gert goes just as crazy like you do in a LFS :) I'm just luvving it :) lol

Thanks guys, whent back and had a good talk to the guy behind the counter? Sadly there not really intristed, plus when my wife heard about it she said there is no way she is giving them back, so now we are an official fish sanctuary for abused and battered fish!
This is what happens when the wife gets involved, hehehe

The sad news is that the fish died, sob. Good news is the pet shop guy said he would stop buying the fish and replace the fish with any other in his shop!
So the delema is that my wife want Oscars I want a pair of convict chilids?
Any thought on what to get going tomorrow!
The tank at the moment is a 2 foot but will get a bigger one if need be.
