Hey guys

This is tank 2 of 3 that will remain set up in my room.

I changed the sand a few days ago to the black i use in my other tank, real lekke stuff!

Finely got time to add the glosso to this tank.....hope to see good growth over the next few weeks/months

This will just be a very simple tank, no Co2 and no ferts....kicking it back old school:p

Heres a pic

Looks good!, just one thing, I dont think the glosso will do well without CO2 and ferts

Will monitor it over the next few days or weeks.

They were just clippings and put in a small tub under a light and grew like mad. Still have a bit growing in it.....from that i thought it would do without.

But will see, i do understand your concern and do agree that they probably won't do well but thats why i didn't add all of them

Nice - you gonna add some fish at some stage - if so what is the plan? Also curios what filtration - small HOB should be fine.

Good going there Troy, always shocking to see how good the balck substrate look!
If I weren't going to sell my nanos I would defnately got some.
I have some glosso growing without CO2 and real ferts and they are not doing to bad.
just need decent light to carpet.

Running a small HOB at the moment. As for the fish, i already got 2 albino corys and one eel in there. Won't be adding anything else. My eel stopped hiding in the substrate some time ago, now he sleeps in the plants and is very active.

Why you selling your nanos Vis ?

At the moment i am running two Eveready globes. daylight 6400k 15w, anygood? Still need to build something to hang over the tank.

I want to start a new(something different) project and need the space and bigger a bigger tank.
Not sure about the 15W's, might be a tad low but see what they do.

Should be interesting....let us know when that happens!
Will do so, lights are one thing i haven't got right yet. Must do some reading on it still

glosso will grow with no co2.. just bit slower..ive tried in my 2ft.. also, i think i got 2X10w or 15W in my 2ft and its not enough as my glosso grows vertically ocassionally..

make sure u have some ferts in there.. they love potassium too.. i seem to always have GSA on the glass..

Very nice looking tank there man. May I ask what sort of eel it was?

Think ill get bigger ones sometime this week then.

Its a spiny eel. Iv heard that its BL but no signs on the BL though

Spiny eels aren't BL. Only problem though is that they like to burrow - might uprrot your plants every now and again.

He used to....hasnt since hes been in this tank (3 or 4 weeks). Even when i added this finer grain (few days ago) he doesnt do it. As said before, he hangs out in the plants and swims around like a chilled tetra lol. Not normal behavior but he is very tame though
