Social or Pet Expo for TASA JHB Community??? Get together???

Hi All,

It is almost that time of the year again. Christmas!!! Why dont we as aquatic lovers organise a get together like a family day or Expo? It will be nice to meet all of you and put faces to names. We can meet at a park or Gilloolys or somewhere.

Just an idea if you want to go the expo route. Form a commitee each member with a responcebility for an expo. If we start small with a venue like a church hall. We can ask our sponsers to ask thier suppliers to put up stands. Alot of work cant be done by year end, but something we can look into for next year.

Or maybe we as a forum need to approach hobbyx to make them aware of tropical fish and not just koi like at the expo 2 years ago

But this is just my opinion. And as the saying going goes "opinions are like assholes. Everyone got one and most of them stink" Heres hoping i dont get another infringement ban for that statement

Toolboysa, I will second you on this. Start small, it will eventually lead to something bigger as we go along. Maybe for this year we have a year end social-like a bring and braai.

I think an expo sounds great. Last year, when WODAC (World Of Dogs And Cats) was at the Coca Cola Dome, there was a tropical fish section there but it was the smallest stand there. It is a pet expo so there will be a lot of pet owners and breeders there. It was quite boring last year as I thnk they only had 2 tanks there, one with Discus and one with Tetra. Maybe we can get something going there and maybe the TASA sponsors would be interested. I think it is a great idea and we should approach WODAC as a forum! Maybe they'll have it in JHB again. If it becomes a reality, I'm in!!!!
