Rams and Apistos sound good although you will sell a lot more Goldfish.

These Zebras are not plecos, they are Hypancistrus which is a huge difference as they are picky feeders and they must be kept in groups or else they do not compete for food and die on you.

You can buy them at about R3000 per fish and if you buy six, you may just as well buy a car first, excuse my cynacism but this is just asking too much.

Kind regards,

Dirk

People are saying the same thing about discus . . .

Price is high because they are rare fish to find . . It's not everyday you see a Zebra Pleco . .

well since it will be a commercial venture, you need to look at what you have regarding tankspace/volume and no of tanks.

You will need growout tanks for youngsters, depending on fish for eg deacons or oscars who produce many eggs running into hundreds and a large percentage hatch(if so) you will need to move the fry to other tanks becoz shortly thereafter the parents could go down again

And remember apart breeding with good quality fish/parents water quality and food are the most important factors

Regarding species deacons always sell, dwarf cichlids as well as malawis and also tanganyikan cichlids although they are more of a challenge regarding the more hard to come by species.....but whatever you choose njoy...........

My 2 cents...

Barbs like Odessa's and Ticto....Manageable spawn size and fast growers + we dont see them that often...
Any Rainbow fish - continious spawners and good resale value...

Maybe try and get some wild neons and slowly introduce a new gene pool into the shops. That would make them last longer and naturally stronger?!
