Hi, does any body know how i can build a generator, the electronic parts and plan. I want to build a wind powered generator mainly for fun and if it works i would like to use it to power my fish tanks light system. I've got the plans and parts to build the wind generator i just need a permanent magnetic DC motor of high volts and low revs. Or if someone has plans to build a turbine that would work out better for me, more fun lol. This is on the edge of fish related seeing that i would like to use it with the tank i thought i'll post it here.

Hey Daniel -you can get your motor at Mantech - but watch your specs. A better Idea if you have the plans for a wind generator is to wind your own alternator, easy to wind to 3 phase or single phase... Wot kind of turbine ?????

I'm not sure what turbine. I've only seen pictures but no info on them on the internet that i can find. The pictures that i've seen is basickly 10 or more coils on a big round plate. The coils are fixed to a frame and the opposite side has the same amount of magnets and thats fixed to the wind propeler. Do you have any plans and specs on winding your own alternator?

Yea got full plans for a wind turbine but will have to find them somewhere on the 3Tb running around this house - give me a while as I am leaving for Jhb for a week.. ---- AAAAArrrghhh ----- Bloody Jhb traffic.......
