Hello all

I have been reading the forum for some time now, decided to introduce myself. My name is Christo, I live in Oudtshoorn, moved here from PTA 3 years ago. Must warn you I tend to get a bit long winded.
Had fish since childhood, worked in petshop during school years. Went through all the phases, had lots of different fish over the years. Love the DIY thing. Had not set up my tank in last 4 years, until now. My tank (1.2X60X60) is currently cycling with some angels in. Plans are maturing angels and getting a breeding pair and later using tank for discus. Unfortunately lfs is the pitts and can not easily get what I am looking for.
Will later post some specific data and questions pertaining to my longterm plans.

Again Hi, and best regards
Christo

Do you know what your water parameters are ?? If you need anything ask here - Oudtshoorn is not that far away

"cycling a tank with fish in it is rather cruel.."

Hi Henk, maybe a bit harsh there. But yes I do agree, it is not a recipe to success to put fish into a tank right from the start.

Maybe I should have explained better. The tank ran a week without any fish, the bio filter was seeded from an established tank, and the fish are 6 small (2cm) angels in 420l tank. What I meant with cycling is giving the bacteria in the filter time to grow as the demand on them grow as well.

Will put all specks and water params in a new thread later, busy studying for some Unisa exams.

Regards
Christo

Hi guys
Thanks for all the warm welcomes(and SPCA alert). Suppose to be studying now, so hard to get back into after all these years, but will give details of my tank and pics in 2 weeks, then I am finished writing.
