Hey there,

I'm looking for some decent conditioned plants as most things found in LFS's are substandard or just not what I'm looking for.

So these are the plants I'm looking for, I hope I get their latin names right?

1- Bolbitis Heudelotti
2- Myriophyllum Aquaticum
3- Myriophyllum Tuberculatum
4- Microsorium pteropus (Java Fern)
5- Microsorium Pteropus (Windelov)
6- Hygrophilia Corymbosa (siamensis)
7- Egeria Densa
8- Cryptocoryne Wendtii
9- Valisneria tortifolia
10 - Any small bushy jobbies that will look good across the front of the tank??

There are probably a whole host of other plants I could add, but if any one has any cuttings or spares of any of these, please let me know??

I'm based around cape town, so anywhere near this region would be ideal!

Regards
Big G!

Isn't Egeria Densa also blacklisted? Very invasive that is

Ross has some wendtii that he's giving me...I'll share some with you mate.
I'll give you some Microsorium pteropus, I have a few ugly pieces floating around in one of my tanks. Maybe some windelov too, will have to check.

Think I gave you a piece of glosso for your foreground last time, pls double check as I'm not sure

If you find some african water fern, please shout....I've been looking for that for ages.

My pigmy is starting to populate nicely now, so I think I'll be able to give you a piece to get you started.

You got my details :)

Where is the best LFS to buy plants from in JHB? I'm looking to add some colour into my tank by adding "red" plants.

Henk at Westgate Pet Hyper has fantastic plants. He has someone in Muldersdrift growing his plants specifically for him. The nice thing is the plants are healthy, in good condition, and generally snail and ther "yuckies" free.

Unfortunately because his stuff is so good, when his stock comes in, it flys out his store quickly.

Very few LFS has decent plants here....it's normally the same-ol same-ol plants we get here. I have noticed that Panorama Pets (Parow) and Ecopets & Aquariums (Parklands) sometimes get decent plants in, but if you want to get decent plants around the CPT area, network with some ppl...that's the best way :)
