View Full Version : Looking for Bog Wood

Hi Guys. I am i the Process of starting a South American Biotope Tank.
The tank is a Cube. 700 x 700 x 700 mm. Getting 8 discus, 4 Rams and 3 Whiptail Catfish.

I would like a piece ornate (gnarled and full of character) piece of Bog wood. Root like features with longish branches. I have not seen anything in the shops that quite fit my specs. Anyone wanting to part with a piece, please let me know.

A dry Vine Stomp will also be great.

Risen I have a few pieces of Mopani Root which sound exactly like what you are looking for if you are interested let me know.

Gal? Or it is a Girl? Bud/buddy is friend or acquaintance with a common interest. I am sure they it adds up to the same thing here on this forum. Maybe a gender icon is needed on this forum for guys lilke me who dont think gender identification is important, but socially correct.

Thank You,Thank You,Thank You. The piece of wood is just perfect. Rowland came for supper last night. Both of us were busy trying to do bogwood sculpturing. I think I am going to attach Wingraad branches to it. It is an impressive piece of wood. Thanks again. What do I owe you?

Hey Vee! Do you have any more bog wood lying around? I could really do with some pieces of all sizes! Got a new tank project in mind and so want to try get some wood soon to start de-tanninning it!

Sorry Big G. After my first posting I was cleaned out :) I'm planning on going to the exporter/importer again soon as soon as I can arrange for him to meet with me.....Perhaps we should try make a stop there on the 6th as well, if I can get him to open for us????
