Unpacking boxes (after moving house), I came across a box of slow release fertilizer pills for aquatic plants called "Lillipill". On the box it says "for Waterlilies, Bog plants, Aquatics. and it contains Dicalcium Phosphate.

The instructions say "push the pills deep into the mud below the aquatic plant or water lily in spring and again in mid summer". - Small plants 2 pills, medium plants 3 pills.

My question is, Can this be used in the ordinary aquarium, (or only in ponds) and is it ok with fish (like Discus)

I would use 1 tablet but i wouldn't chance it with a discus tank.

No Cheetah,

Plants need a lot more than just dicalcium phosphate so this is just part of what they would need and I would certainly not put this in an aquarium and definitely not in a discus aquarium because with discus you specifically want to keep the calcium as low as possible.

Kind regards,'
