I think there is a need for a civil and open discussion on the health of this forum, which some members believe is not at all healthy. I think there is a need for a place for people to air their views, RESPECTFULLY, and that deleting such a thread is not useful. This is not a democracy, but it needs to be treated like one. The site relies on it's users. lets not forget that.

We all need a little patience and tolerance. It doesn't hurt anyone to point a new guy in the right direction. He probably has no idea what he's doing, remember what it was like when you joined your first forum?

I don't think this forum is going South. I think it is a negative attitude of some people and THE CONSTANT PUBLIC BICKERING that is bringing about this supposed gloomy patch. Issues need to be sorted out via PM, the rest of the forum does not need to know about it. THAT is what is pissing older members off, it is the only thing that has really changed since I joined a while ago. Yes, new members do need to respect the older members, and old members need to respect newer members. Even if you feel that the other guy is totally wrong, say so in a RESPECTFUL manner, start a civil debate and maybe learn something new from the oke.

On the issue of moderators, I feel that if someone was indeed limited without warning that this was wrong. I am also hoping that any decision such as this would be made in consultation with all the moderators to prevent personalities getting in the way and people making rash decisions. Although, guys, if they delete your post, grow a pair and don't complain about it. It happens to everyone. Think about why it happened and try and post more relevant and useful information in the future.

Moderating is a tough and vital job, one that they (I think) are not getting paid for. Please be kind to them, but they must also be kind to us. I think that some allowances should be made to make this place as friendly as possible to the newbies, because the continued health of this forum relies on them, that continued health gets us sponsorship and keeps this place running. Thus, I believe that every possible effort should be made to be kind and tolerant.

There seem to be some personal issues at play in this thread and in some others. I think this is what would bring the sight down, the public bickering. PLEASE
sort these issues out privately. All public comments should be in good spirits.

Ps. Yes, the moderators and owners reserve all the rights etc. but who wants to run a forum like that? It wouldn't work. People shouldn't be scared to post, remember that, mods.

Regards, Gabriel

Thanks for trying Gabriel, but as has repeatedly been shown, this kind of open discussion results in heated tempers and arguements breaking out.

What we need is to put these opinions and frustrations behind us, or to sort them out via PM's and not on open forum.

As a result, this thread is now closed.

G!
