looks good but just a word of advice - the plant in the last photo looks like acorus sp. it's not an aquatic and will eventually rot
Hi Juls, looking good. What are you using for a background?
Tank looks great Juls..... can you please tell me what is the dark fern like plant in the second last pic?

Thanks All for your kind words....
@ Vis - it is actually a plain blue background... but with the condensation in the lid, everytime i open it the water runs down between the glass and the backing.....
Any ideas to prevent this?
Thanks
Any ideas to prevent this?
No idee, happens to me too. In the morning I actually pick the lid up carefully and let the water on the light and stuff run back into the tank.
Somewhere there was a thread on how to prevent this mmmm...... Have to go and search for it.
Someone recommended putting a 12V PC fan into the hood.

@ gareth - not sure about the fern actually...
The LPS i bought it from just called it a FERN...
I am not sure though if it is going to take, when I took it out of the pots and the cotton wool, there were no roots, it looks like it had just been cut... can still see how straight it was cut!
Lets See, I am hoping it will grow nicely. Its only 3/4 days old in my tank.

Hey all
Just wanted to let you know, i have solved my condensation problem....
Even if it is a "different" way of doing it... works for me
I have gaps between my sliders and the ends of my tanks on either side, because of my cannister inlet and outlet pipes, and weirdly enough i only get condensation on the one side, not the side the heater is on.
I actually think my lights are closer together on this side and therfore creating more heat or something.
So what i have done is take some cling-wrap and bridge the gap with the cling-wrap, but made like a U from the side of the tank and then lay the excess on the slider.
You dont have to have it sticking out from uderneath the canopy or anything, you just push it against the edge of the tank....
Some useless info...
:blink1::p:blink1:
Oh yes....
Can anyone identify the fern i have, i am wondering if it is an aqautic plant!
Thanks Guys

Me and cling wrap is not friends. The stuff keeps sticking to itself before I can use it were I want it and then when I try and untagle it it sticks somewhere else and at last it ends up in a little ball in the trash.
Ok so I have issues concerning cling wrap :)

Shame Man... i can just imagine it...
But you get some that are not that sticky... I think i have the "GLAD" one and it does not stick to itself at all...
Anyway Good Luck!

Ahaha my tank does exactly the same I got both the left and right corner of the tank slider that has a gap for cables ect, but only the left side gets all the condensation on the lid rather strange.

Hey Guys
Anyone got any idea's about this fern?
:wondering::wondering::wondering:
Hey Juls, it looks like the same fern I had in my tank. It's not an aquatic plant and won't grow in your tank. (If it's the same one)
Loving the black and white contrast on the gravel.

Awesome tank juls, i think the fern is a marginal plant from the amazon and not truely aquatic. I researchd it when i got mine bt it died, i cant for the life of me think of the botanical name. The african water fern is truly aqautic though
