Jokes aside i am a Tropical fish inthusuast big time!
I have 4 running tanks at home and if i had my way (the wife has her input) i would at least 4 more

I am always looking for weird and wonderful rare additions to my tanks.
I have imported from the states before and have flown down from JHB to East London (where i stay) same day.

Nothing is too big a job when it comes to my tanks

Campbell13

well that depends how you define illegal.....
There is a local creek close to where i stay and it is full of them.
From what i have gathered from the head of the department of Water that if imported yes they are illegal, but if locally caught in rivenes or streams they are not illegal.

I have loclly caught shrimp as well and i can gaurantee you they are nowhere near illegal.

maybe you should do some reading up on locally caught Inverts...

As per the forum rules:

Any species on the South African black list (http://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/showthread.php?t=78) are not allowed to be discussed in the context of keeping them in aquaria. TASA will endeavour to keep an updated black list on the site for reference.

and as per the black list supplies by DEAT and DepAgri.....

Other

All spp. Of Freshwater Crustaceans
(Crabs, Prawns, Shrimps etc.)
All spp. Of Terrapins and Turtles
All spp. Of Amphibians, including Axolotls,
Newts, Salamanders and Frogs.

Until SANBI issues the new black list (with which i am involved) this the black list we stick to on the forum.

that is very fare.... however i wasnt discussing them you were.........
i was just simply putting up pic's of my tank........
no discussions about them at all.
baned or illegal or whatever we should all still be allowed to look at pic's......

Campbell, sorry the "no discussion" rule includes posting pictures of them in your personal tanks.

I know you're a fan of inverts and some more "exotic" fish but please don't discuss yourself having them, how to keep them, post pictures of them, etc on this forum.

I am sorry, Campbell. I think my thread raised the question of black-listing. I wish I didn't post it.
