I know Eskimo might be interested

Why yes sir I am!

Hey tyrone its phil here, remember we had that debate over weather my "fish" were true endlers or some wild type guppy... I cant remember if you said you wanted some or not? If so would they be worth a trade? Otherwise im still keen to buy some killies,

let me know man,
phil..

Hi Phil,

I'm not convinced your fish are Endlers. Could be photography... or I'm just being very harsh, but having seen Endlers in the I'm just not prepared to settle for anything less than the real deal. Google "aquariumhobbyis endlerslivebearer" to see the real deal. Then imagine 100 of these little guys swimming about a planted tank.

You out in Stellenbosch? If you interested in killies, then a plan can be made.

Yeah man still in Stellies,
would you have any eggs or fish to offer in about a month from now?

At the moment i only have corys in my planted tank and was considering going back to discus but i'v always been interested in killies and the lower water temp will be good for my plants, so this decides it...

Please dont' tell me these are also blacklisted? :-/
Some people say they're illegal, some dont.
Would they be better for me to keep than goldfish?

Henk Hugo

I suggest you study the black list found on the forum: http://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/forumdisplay.php?2-Rules-and-Regulations

It is also illegal to keep ANY indigenous animal without the correct permits. We have a few species of native killies.

Most good looking non-annual african killifish are not on the blacklist such as Aphyosemion, Fundulopanchax and Diapteron species.
There are also lots of other nice Nothobranchius annual species to choose from such as Nothobranchius eggersi from Tanzania that are not on the blacklist.

Avoid these afican annual ones, because they are on the blacklist:
-------------------------------------------------------
Nothobranchius Kirki (Redbelly Nothobranch)
Nothobranchius Kuhntae (Beira Killfish)
Nothobranchius Orthonotus (Dusky Notro, Spotted Killfish)
Nothobranchius Rachovii (Blueband Killifish)

I am in touch with Tyrone, and he is packing down his Killi collection, as he is finishing off his PhD.

He does have a number of Killies available at the moment (all none BL species), but these will be his last available.

If you are interested in some, send me a PM, as I was going to possibly buy most of them, and get a few pairs, then sell on the rest?

Otherwise, I have two Male and a Female Aplocheilus Lineatus which I bought to go in my community, but then had a change of potential occupants, so they are not suited to go with them.

G!

lol i step warily as i revive this thread once more......... but anyone in ct keeping endlers? lol ;)

Er, greatwyt, Endlers are the same family as Guppies, not Killies? You also don't need to tread lightly, as long as you do not ask for any of the blacklisted killies? There are only a few that are actually Blacklisted, so its not a problem.

So what are you after? Endlers or Killies?

Regards
G!
