View Full Version : Algae
You get a type of algea that looks like a little pod when it starts off. It likes to grow in fast moving parts of a tank or on the edges of large leaf plants.
Someone told me that a Moonlight Gourami will eat my problem away.
Can anyone back this up?
And if so, would a Dwarf Gourami do the same?
I dont really like Moonlight Gourami's.

Yeah I can back it up! but attacking the symptoms wont help you in the long run you need to identify the source of your algae problem..
Well the source i really dont know? PH 6.5, temp is 30 the lights are on 10 hours a day and my co2 9 hours.
Will the dwarf gouramis help?

No i dont think they will, do you dose your tank, How many watts is your lighting and what spectrum, How often do you do water changes and how heavily stocked is your tank? It should help to decrease your photo and co2 period and do smaller but more frequent water changes as well as finding the right balance between the co2 and lighting..
