Hi all

Just wondered who here keeps clown loaches and have you read this

much easier to just go buy wavemakers from the LFS :P

I may be mistaken, but don't wave makers create surface aggitation? I think the idea with this biotope is to create a fast moving stream close to the substrate and emulating strong river current.

wavemakers are just powerheads on a switch, one goes on and the other goes off... thus making a wave. a wave doesnt have to be on the surface....

Thanks Henk. I'm not an equipment-guru so I know nothing about wavemakers. Would this "wave" be strong enough 50cm under the water surface to create a psuedo-current in, for example, a 5ft tank?

wavemakers are actually for marine tanks where you want strong current with a random wave. so in FW where you just want a current it will work really well

has anyone ever tried a wave maker in a FW tank? im curious to see/know whether it makes a difference
