Hi everyone, welcome to our first ever photo competition.

This competition will be run every month and the winning photo from each month will be displayed on the home page. That's it, short and sweet. :)

We only have a few days left until the end of this month so get those camera's and cellphones snapping and start uploading your pics into this thread. Photo's can be of anything, fish, full tanks, plants, snails, plecs on the glass etc. etc. Get creative and let's see those pics.

Good luck to you all, looking forward to seeing lots of lovely photo's.

G!

Digital.
F/Stop f/5.3
exposure time 1/320sec
iso 800

Light was an issue thats why i used the flash but I forgot to bring the iso down. and i would love to get a faster shutter speed but its just was too dark. the iso made some noise but i should have cleaned the glass before i took the photo. only saw it once i put it on the pc. its hard to get one of the orange ones to stand still. the camera doesn't really have manual focus . that would help me allot.

why do you ask?

This is my current male Angel protecting his bunh of +/- 75 to 100 wrigglers. The female was going baserk at the top of the tank trying to chase my hand away, that I had placed on the glass at the top to distract her whilst taking this pic.

This is a female which I got from my wifes cousin, busy looking for a male for her. Her blue colour is stunning and really stands out in my tank.

The pics so far are awsome and think its going to be really difficult for the judges to decide on this months winner.

All fish are from the tank I share with my boyfriend (Nirv on the forums).
The Tiger Shovelnose he raised from about 5cm, and the Silver Arowana from about 15cm.
They are both about 20cm now.
The syno belonged to a mutal friend of ours, and we have been keeping him for about 5 months now. We'd actually like an ID (The other synos we got were eupterus, but this guy seems different) of this syno, and or a buyer from Cape Town.

As you can see, Kattz can take some good photos; the two fish there may be my babies that I've had for a while now but only she can get really good photos of them. I stole her D90 camera the other day and took some shots but only one or two are viable.

My Tiger Shovelnose I named Mephisto after one of the Prime Evil gods of the Diablo series computer games. He's really a wussy but as you can see from that photo, he is very loving to people, especially me. My silver Arowana has been named Jack Mercury; Kattz managed to get a really impressive and unusual shot of him there.

Ah... I am so jealous I can't lay claim to that tiger shovelnose and arowana. I've seen 'em grow since they were babies... I just wasn't living with Nirv and sharing tanks at the time.

That tiger shovelnose is a really sweet fish. He knows who his Mommy and Daddy are, and shows us love accordingly~ <3
