Air Compressor

Hi

I have owned 2 boyu electromagnetic air compressors in the last year and a half. The models are acq006 and acq009. The second one has just given up on me. Although the compressors are under 1 year warrantee, I have decided to get another make. This is due to my experience of them being unreliable and also noisy, despite the manufacturer's claim.

This begs the question: which make and model of air compressor?

I have seen resun air compressors but I have been told that it is still a sister company of boyu and invariably the same. Any truth to that?

Does anyone have any information, suggestion or advice on this matter? FYI it is to run a series of sponge filters.

Eheim is the best in my opinion. Bit pricy, but I never hear it, and been going non stop with zero problems 16months now.

The electromagnetic air compressors have very few moving parts and the main replaceable parts, will be the rubber/neoprene valves and diaframes. Try to order some!
I also have one and had to replace it with DIY diving-Demand valve rubber components! You also need to clean the intake sponge regularly.
I have suspended my compressor from the roof with a rope and have no vibrating noise!

Sorry for the late reply.

Zoom, I have only seen the Resun and Boyu compressors and not the Eheim. If I do see one I will certainly consider it. But, like you said I am sure Eheim gonna be pricey.

Gertjc, the boyu compressors I had started off quiet and after 3 to 4 months started getting noisy. One of them had the ball bearing damage the internal parts. If you have experience or knowledge of the resun compressor let me know if that is better than Boyu.
