Hi guys
I got a bit of an algae issue in my discus tank i clean the tank every sec week and water change ones a week i read on the net its harmless but it doesnt look so nice its growing mostly on the stump in the tank .
So i wanna get a algae eater cause i see the plecos aint doing much but i dont want something that gonna harm or disrupt the discus cause they very happy at the mo can anyone make a suggestion plz of what algae eater to get
Otoclinus. Dwarf suckermouth catfish. They are amazing! Prodigious! My favourite algae eater. I had all of my plants leaves coated in a tough black scum and in just a few days a pair of these guys cleaned them up beautifully!

thx dane
Perhaps you need to post a pic of the algae you have. Otos won't eat every type of algae. Few fish do.

Hmmm the one thats on the stump is the hairy type u can see its longish weaving from left to right gives the tank some attitude tho LOL
I haven't had lasting success with Ottos and Discus. They seem to disappear after a week or so. Probably easy targets for the Discus to snack on
Ancistrus is probably a better bet

It looks like it but what im gonna do is just check it out and then come back to you cause its really just hairs i can see i havent checked them close up
Sorry, I have no experience with discus. I wasn't aware they'd snack on smaller fish. And the Ottos are tiny little fish!
yeah those guys suck on the discus slime coating. be carefull.
