What do you feed your bettas?
that omega 1 food you sent me, seems to be a hit. is there any special reason why you use it?
I feed my bettas a variety of food which include live BBS, Frozen Bloodworm, Frozen Rotifers, Flakes and Granulate. Most of them have grown very attached to the Omega One Tropical Flakes instead of the Omega One Betta specific pellets or flakes actually :) Don't ask....my bettas are extremely fussy eaters...they work on my damn nerves sometimes; perhaps I should offer them a glass of wine with their meal as well :D
And one tip I can give you for rapid betta fry growth (besides the daily water changes), is to feed them Omega One Tropical Flakes as well as Frozen Rotifers...this is all they need to grow healthy & strong (once they start to eat powdered & flake foods). BBS is a definitely plus, but I've recently raised a baby betta on just Omega One flakes and Rotifers and she is stunningly strong & healthy :D
Does your LFS stock Omega One? If not, talk to me or Henk and we'll get them onto the shelf that side jong ;)

okay cool, they dont hey. maybe you can organise it. the LFS's are Your Pet Shop, Finny Flipper and Pampered Pets.
I did the payment, shot mate.
BBS = big mission, i would like to get some tropical flakes for my fry
Ok, I'll chat to Henk in getting the ball rolling with those LFS
Thanks for pmt mate
Why is the BBS a big mission? Can't you get them, or just too big of a mission to set up a hatchery? Your fish will LOVE you for BBS bru :)

then ask them to order some for you
Ok, got home from church today and witness them spawn. I removed the female, and now the most crucial phase begins....getting the fry free-swimming.
Will keep you posted on the progress

Ok, all well so far. Daddy has been removed about an hour ago and is currently being pampered. All fry are free swimming and there are way more than what I thought there would be.
I'm not using any live foods on this spawn. I've given the fry their first meal about 30mins ago...frozen rotifers. Thanks to Prof Dirk, my last fry survivors grew at a rapid pace because of the frozen rotifers, so now, I'd like to see if I can raise this entire batch on it.
Will keep you posted and take pics later

Ok, I moved all the fry to two different tanks last night. Was a bit of a tedious process and I hope that I don't lose much, or any, fry during the move.
They are still far too small for pictures to be taken, so I'll wait until they are slightly bigger.
Will keep you posted
