View Full Version : New here!
Hi guys,
I am new in this forum. I have been keeping fishes for about 7 years and countless number of tanks and fishes. :D
Then recently I got bored breeding every single species I own and started writing an web application instead!
I'm a geek at heart in both aquarium hobbies and computers/gadgets. :)
Welcome. What type of fish are you currently keeping/breeding? What sort of web app are you writing?
Please update your location in your profile so we know where about your are situated.

I had to do a major relocation (from Montreal to Toronto) so I had to get rid of most of the fishes in the process but I am getting back into it again.
For starters, I have a tank split between Lamprologus Stappersi and Julidochromis Transcriptus. Rocks on one side, shells on the other side. :)
I am setting up a second tank, thinking about raising a rarer shrimps and snails for a change.
As for the app, it's AqAdvisor (http://www.aqadvisor.com). It allows you to experiment with your stocking ideas. I have been developing it for about 1 year and pretty much consumed all of my spare time! :D
Hi and welcome to TASA
Thanks! :D
So you're currently based in Toronto....what's the time difference, here it is 06h15 at the moment.

Now I'm jealous, we're getting ready to go to work (or at least that is what I SHOULD be doing :D ). It's great having you here and once again, that app is great! I'm off to get ready for the work day. Sleep well, whenever you manage to get to bed that is, TASA is rather addictive :blink1:

Haha... :D No work for me for another 9 hours or so... :p
Thanks for the complement.

Welcome to TASA .
Thanks.
Hey! Torronto! One of my friends was just over there for Christmas! The rest of his family moved out there years ago, and he hadn't seen his brother for 5 years! So it was a well overdue visit!!
Anyway, Welcome to South Africa (although I'm originallly from the UK! Been out here 5 years now!)!
Obviously you sound pretty clued up on the fish, but TASA is a great place to learn more (you never can know too much!!) and an even better place to share your knowledge!
As Vee says, this is incredibly addictive! So be warned!
Cheers!
Big G!

Oh by the way, I lived in UK for about 6 years too...
HI and welcome, Hope to see some pics of your tanks soon.
O yes cool App
Welcome dude.
Nice to have some international blood here.... would be really awesome to hear some of your set ups, as I think some of the stuff that is banned in SA would be allowed in the states? (Shrimp?)
Thanks guys...
Which shrimps are banned in SA?
All freshwater shrimps as far as I know.
Henk, can you help us out here?
Yip! ALL freshwater invertibrates!
I think things like fairy shrimp and other shrimps that use the name shrimp but are in fact not shrimps are ok??
Cheers
BigG!
