I'm really confused I appear to have a bubble nest in my community tank, but I have no idea who made it. The bubble-nesters I have are bettas, dwarf gouramis and pygmy gouramis.

The only behaviour difference I have seen is that the male dwarf has been chasing the two females a lot more than usual.

Can anyone help?

The Male guorami has possibly made the nest and is now trying to woo the females into mating.

Yup, I agree with Zoom.

When I got my first fish tank, I bought a pair of Dwarf Gouramis and they did the same thing. But I don't recall there being a large bubble nest. Just a few random bubbles. The eggs are lighter than water, so they'll float.

Congrats!!

It's definitely the dwarf male, he is swimming back and forth from the nest to the front of the tank. Wow this is awesome.

What else is in the tank? Check to see if there are eggs in the nest.

It looks like he's still building it, he's collecting air from the top and taking it to the tank. It doesn't look like there are any eggs inside.

There are four little angels, two hoplos, a few corys, two otos, two butterfly plecos, a pleco and two rams. I'll try make a plan to move them asap.

I'm fairly new to fishkeeping let alone breeding so any advice would be greatly appreciated ;)

Well, for the eggs to survive, you're gonna have to move them to their own tank. The angels are aggressive and will eat the eggs. As will the Rams. You will need to get TINY fry food to feed them first off. Then try freshly hatched brine shrimp, or decapsulated brine shrimp eggs. Dolphin Sells decapsulated eggs for R95.

The dwarf gouramis are beautiful fish, good luck.

Ok I'll move them and will ask Dolphin. Thanks for your help ;)

I'm so excited.

Awesome news, that's so exciting. What about newly hatched brine shrimp, or commercial fry food?

Thanks guys, sadly some of my fish appear to have destroyed the nest >:(
Maybe they will try again.
