Fish 'n Thingz - Bothasig Shoprite Centre (Their fish are REALLY well taken care of and tanks are ALWAYS clean clean clean. They are sometimes a little more expensive than other LFS but for the quality of fish, it's worth it!)

Pets etc - Voortrekker Rd, Goodwood (healthy, reasonably priced fish)

Henk you've got me REALLY interested / concerned as to why Tropicum's fish are so cheap, I go there on a weekly basis so now I'm concerned (just to check out what fish they have and mostly to buy equipment - cheapest I've found yet on heaters etc).......please pm me if you don't want to share on the forum.

Fish & Things - Yip, definitely a nice little place

Pets Etc - Poor on fish variety

Tropicum - Definitely the cheapest LFS in the Western Cape as far as livestock is concerned...don't think they cheapest for equipment though. I'll tell you the story if you collect the plants from me on Saturday

Cheers
Dale

Is knowing this info going to be of benefit to you and the hobby? Let things be, especially if it makes it cheaper for us the hobbyists.

I have some roof slate's here - bought them from Strata Natural Stones in Paarden Eiland. Non-treated and safe to use in tanks. I can't remember how heavy they are but I'll go and measure them and get an approximate weight for you. I searched everywhere for them so bought ALOT when I found it!!!!

Oops - sorry for the delay 2time.....okay they are approximately 30x20 and around 1cm thick I'd say. Hubby has put them away so that's about an estimate......

There's a guy on another local forum, giving away free slate. Unfortunately due to the amount of red tape on this forum I can't post a link, nor can I email or PM you. So, I'll just say that it's an aquatic plant related forum. You'll have to Google it yourself.
