Does anyone know what causes green water?

I have a 1.2m Discus tank with 5 discus. it used to be a planted tank but is now bare.It has been running like this with no issues for 3 months, but now the water just turns green?! I do a 80 to 100 l water change a week.
I used to use a product called Discus buffer to lower my ph, but cant seem to get it anymore. I've now been using seacem acid regulator... the LFS told me it does the same thing , but i dont know about that. Could this product be causing problems in my tank?

PH 6.5
temp 30 deg
lighting period 5hrs
