Rams Horn Snails

Hi guys,

Ok, I know that all of the snail species have been banned but I'm desperately looking for some Rams Horn snails. Could anybody help me out a few specimens? I'm in the Pretoria area.

Gladly Johan, I am in Sandton. Why would you want these? They are a nuisance in the highest degree.

I want them for algae control. Is there a better snail for this purpose?

Not really, can I suggest Ancistrus? These guys eat your plants and it is a protracted story to rid your tank of them again.

Ok, in that case. I'll avoid the Rams Horn snails idea. This will be for a planted aquarium and if they are going to destroy the plants, it's a no-go especially because I don't have any fish that'll keep their numbers in order. I'll get some Ancistrus instead. Thanks for the offer though.
