Hello

What would be the best plants for a Nano tank?

Small fine leaved, as well as slightly broader leaved for height and fill which would suite a sub 20L with Galaxies or something of that size?

Depends on your lights. For background you can go with fine leaved stems like Rotala Wallichii which can easily be trimmed and kept nice and pink because of the low water column height. Contrast that with a rock or two and some Anubias nana attached to the rocks. Then look at some hairgrass (10cm height) for midground in between the rocks and background stems. I'd stay away from any broad leaved plants like swords etc.

You can also look at Glosso for the foreground. They like light, and in such a small tank, it should do quite well.

Thanks Guys.

Hairgrass is as scarce as hensteeth here. Was looking for my 80l foreground.

So mini swords are a no no..

What About Undulated Crypt (http://www.aquahobby.com/garden/e_Cryptocoryne_undulata.php) (Cryptocoryne undulata)?

I have one as a foreground plant in my 80l

Theres normally always hairgrass at the LFS's, but the best undisputed plant for a nano is HC (Hemianthus callitrichoides) other very nice plants include Glosso, E. tenellus, Hemianthus micranthemoides, star grass... but what I would recommend above that would be different mosses such as, pelia, flame moss, fissidends...

Just an Idea;

Wow, that moss growth is insane!
I've just made my first test panel for a Java Moss wall, but that background is exactly what I'm aiming for.

you'll battle to get that effect with Java moss, spiky moss would work much better, anyway good luck hope to see pictures soon..

I'll give an update once I get some results, it's been 3 days with no growth out of the panel yet.
As for getting alternative mosses, I'll have to figure out which ones I need and then I'll try get someone to courier to me ;)
