One of my Mollies jumped out today. Fortunately on of the kids in my class were nearby and put it back in while I was out the class. It doesn't look happy but still swimming around. Hope it'll be ok. Any precautions I can take to make sure he survives and enjoys living in my tank?
Well first thing I suggest you do is put a cover of some sort on the tank. A LFS had a tank of guppies on display and it wasn't covered, and while I was standing there one of the guppies jumped out and I had to rescue him. I warned the LFS to cover the tank but they never did :(
I got my first Molly(male) in October, who lived happily in my tank.
Got my second Molly(female) in December. A week later, she jumped out and d(r)ied.
Thought she was just psycho, because my water and the male were fine, so I didn't cover my tank.
A month later, the boy jumped also jumped out and d(r)ied.
Your Molly will be fine, but I agree with Zeiphex - you should cover your tank, because there's always chance of an escape.
