Go read that - if you keep fish without the correct PH they will die MUCH younger

Henk, you are telling our poor friend here that he needs more tanks!! :) You are quite a promoter of MTS!

Jaguar, nice-looking tank there, where'd you pick it up?

Bought it two years ago from a friend who had lost interest. It was originally a marine setup. I desided to go the cichlid route. Cuban, GT and Plec have been in it since I got it.

Thats good advise Henk, but sometimes you just fall in love with a fishie when you see it. Then when you get home you have to make a plan with the new family member. Been thru that many a times already.... Thats why I am now sitting at 7 tanks with 4 still coming.....LOL

You are right there Henk... BUT... I have seen a lot of people keep fish from different pH requirements very successfully. The key factor is to keep the pH REGULAR and stable and not erratic and changing.

BUT I will agree with you that the life-span of the fish will be shortened.

I have decided to move the Malawi's into a brand new home. Purchased a beautiful 3FT for them. Some serious MTS on the way.
