I am on a Fish Importers emailing list and they have just listed Pseudacanthicus species L024 & L025 arriving at the end of the month
Sooooo. I pick up the phone and ask them to reserve one of each for me when they arrive.
As I am about to put down the phone. "Btw, how much are they"?
Answer "£150 (R1,800) each for a 5cm fish".
Ok then. The conscience is now fighting. I really want them. Really. Really.
But when the Mrs finds out.......:help:
I somehow doubt you'll find a stern, responsible opinion telling you to give them a pass on here!
Its easy... Buy her an expensive valentines day gift, and tell her you bought one, on her behalf, for yourself :P
The L025 is to die for though

Tropical Fish are massive here. Huge.
There is a LFS that I go to that gets Altums now and then.
And there is a Discus supplier who gets them periodically too.
Edit: The supplier who is getting these Plecs is expecting some Altums. No indication of price, but I would imagine they will be in the region of £70+ each (R840)

Eish, I didn't look at your location and assumed you in SA and the importer importing from Britain...... oops!
The company I work for import aswell (not fish), and believe me, airfreight and clearing charges are a female dog! Take into consideration the amount of fish that don't survive the trip I really don't blame those guys asking that kind of prices....

No prob.
Yup, I don't deny it is expensive to import these fish.
I am just trying to justify it to myself. :sad2:
Altum Angels on one of the lists that I have seen was $50 for about a 7cm fish, geez that's expensive, and bringing them in from the UK I'm sure that they will cost even more....
Reedfish, I can tell you how you could work it out.... Why don't you go to the bank withdraw the money and flush R1800-00 down the toilet... It's always a risk that you take with livestock!!!
buying an L-plec is gonna be tons more satisfying then flushing your bucks down the loo though......:noworry:
.......doooo it!!!!......
who said that?
