HI guys this might be a stupid question but I have a tank with a sealed lid when you put it back on it fits perfectly in specialised slots, how would i go about connecting a cannister filter to it if it's sealed. Those pipes would stop the lid from closing.

you could try drill a hole in the lid at the back.
whats the lid look like?
As butcherman stated, a hole would need to be drilled in the canopy, this could lead to problems when opening and closing the canopy though, so you might need to try a different approach and maybe cut the canopy and install joints...
Post a pic of the canopy.

from what i can see in the internet pic, you should be able to remove the builtin filter completely and add your pipes through the flap that lifts up. alternatively you can drill the tank. if its plexi glass then you can drill yourself.

Thanks Madam, I call my tank the amazon jungle tank due to the diffrent colours of green in it and the diffrent plastic plants.

That is definately an option!
Hang on hang.
My Corner tank has a large cut out at the back, which I assume is specifically for feeding in pipes from a canister filter.
Surely your lid can't be completely and perfectly sealed off?

No it's not sealed completely It has a few cut outs for wireing but if we have 2 pipes both going in i don't have enough space.

cant you take a file and make those holes a little bigger

I suppose I could! that just might work!
Yeah, I would also just make the existing hole bigger, rather than create more.
