If you are talking about a parrot cichlid , i am sorry to say this but they should not be aloud to breed..... they way the fish is made to look like it does is so creul and it should not be supported. Or thats just the way i feel others may feel differently

Agree with Reafer - If it is a parrot cichlid they should not be bred
Nothing personal Gaf - but you should not let them breed - really

Well they unfortunately decided to have this lot while I was away and as much as I am not one for Parrots due to the dying processes and cross breeding they are put through, these were "rescued" from a guy who was going flush them due to the damage to his plants, so I couldnt bare the thought and decided to set up a tank for them. If anyone thinks I should dispatch of the babies, what is the most humane method?

The babies would make good food for some oscars :) Sauron !!!!!

Thanks guys. Well here is an option for all the babies, I have two breeding pairs of rainbow cichlids that are looking pretty hungry right now? PS these are not the type with the deformed heads, they look more like pink convicts.

Aparrently a strain that they use to make Jelly bean Parrots, they are a cross between Pink convicts and a Gold Severum. Still cruel in all aspects.

I dont think you guys have a wrong opinion at all..i too dont keep these fish, but then we should not be forgetting fancy goldfish aswell..they too have these deformities

I have to ask , what do u do with all the fry...... ( since its a blacklisted fish) i got 1 breeding pair and they breed like rabbits and have to split them up . i got about 100 fry i am not to sure what to do with

find a recycle bin - something like a shovel nose and feed the babies and the rainbows to it

They are not true albinos but they are called Pink convicts or Jelly Bean Convicts. They are not parrots. Google images will show you.

I think they are pretty cool fish and don't see why nobody wants them. There are some dog breeds that are stranger than these fish. I had one. I really liked him but he was an agro little guy who was kicking my oscar's butts.

These guys don't look deformed at all... if they can reproduce, the strain couldn't have been messed with too much.

I had some balloon rams at one stage, got rid of them after i did some research, not cool.
