I wanted to know, if I had ada new amazonia as a substrate, and tied cape/java moss to a rock or something heavy and buried the rock in the substrate so that the moss is essentially a carpet, would the moss benefit from the ADA soil?

Probably, to some extent, but I think it would be an expensive way to get a moss carpet. You can dose your water with ferts like ADA Green Brighty Special Shade. It will supply nutrients to your tank and the moss...

If you have any other plants in the tank, they would benefit from the Special Shade as well...

What size tank is it?

I haven’t bought it yet, this was just all in my design phase. But I’m thinking of a nano 30L or something small along those lines.

It will only benefit the moss if the ADA leaches a lot. Not sure if that happens.

The aquasoil leaches nutrients, but that is mainly in the first couple of weeks only... After that, you dose ferts.

If you want a moss carpet, dose the water column. Don't worry about using aquasoil. If you want a carpet of HC or glosso, then use aquasoil.

On a 30l tank you would dose about 1ml of special shade per day... A bottle would last 500 days.
