That tank is rediculous! How? How do you do that?
That tank freaks me out a little... What the heck is the white stuff pretending to be water rapids? There are some serious scapes in these international contests! Some amazing talent in the world today.
You sure that's a tank?? It's mind boggling..

They use very fine silica sand to create these underwater waterfalls... About 25 years ago you could buy this Incan style ornament that was air pump driven that did this - used to have one (Busted, hey - i was like 10 or something....lol) in one of my tanks....
I know the method you are talking about shawn but I think the white stuff in this tank is filter wool.

you are quite correct it is filter wool, used on the day for effect.

I know the method you are talking about shawn but I think the white stuff in this tank is filter wool.I've heard they use a certain type of filter will, with a stategically placed pump with spray bar under it on the day of the show to give it the effect of movement. I believe the effect doesn't last very long because the filter wool can become displaced and break apart. But I know of the system Azurekoi was talking about. azurekoi... did that system work on spraying the sand UPWARDS (with it collecting behind the waterfall effect) or did yours work pushing the sand from the top down?

hi Zoom
i dont know if i can post the link here so please advise.
but this tank is 65L NO co2 and the wool is filter wool. dont think any power head was used to create any flow look, as its just a stil pitcure, probably placed there for picture day. he/she is running a external 680l filter.
wow, just got the link on the net, this guy can scape! only two T8's!
