Hi Willem,

You have some nice fishes there. You said that you had planned for small but ended up going big and I can clearly see that, but you big fishes look nice and healthy, so well done. However, I cannot make out on the pic what those Garra's are. They look like they really love you!

Kind regards,

Dirk

Hi Dirk

Thank you for the compliment, they are part of the family

The Garra's are the Garra Rufa what they call the doctor fish or other name Redish log sucker I use them on my skin for

the skin condition called Psoriasis

I have seen the tanks and I find it hard to believe that Willem ever planned to go small - lol!

I had two massive oscars, never again! Barbarians they are, I had to feed each oscar seperatly otherwise one of them would get all of the food, my poor fingers. How they will recover I dont know, the floor was always wet under the tank after feeding time. How big is yours?

Ag no man Vissie,

You guys just can't take the punch of big fishes. I mean Oscars are actually tiny. You should rather go to the Amazon and get yourself a true gaint, Arapaima gigas (belongs to the gourami family, believe it or not).

Kind regards,

Dirk

Hi Willem, How is the pangasius doing ?

Vissie
29-12-2011, 18:50
Prof, comes from a man whos favorite fish is a discus! Totally opposites of the oscar haha

What a tiny fish! That one doesn't look like family of the gourami at all! What about two pirannas, I see one guy is selling them on gumtree, whats the chance of getting a piranna in bloemfontein! If anyone is interested I could go and have a look for you to confirm they are indeed pirannas.

Kind regards,

Hannes

Sorry to answer on your behalf Willem but Vissie, the Oscars are a good 28cm or so and look really good. It is nice to see large Oscars in a more than large enough tank. gdt78 Your old pangasius looks really well with no marks on it whatsoever - usually large pangasius have a few battle wounds from bumping themselves.

DarylA thanks for your reply(answers) Vissie yes mine are used to feed together they each go to there own places when I feed them and so use to me I can stroke them when I feed them. Dirk Bellstedt yes prof nice fish that but my plan is to get the pangasius to round about that size aswell,................ but about the wooden tank I let you in on it next year.....!!!!!!

Willem
