Found this at a small plant place close to me can some one please ID the man said it's true aquatic122771227812279

The others around this one are allready dead.

AQUATIC pfft! That's Gloriosa superba, the flame lily, indigenous to Zim. Summer rainfall plant... the give away is the tendrils on the end of the leaf, I've only ever seen them on that plant. Very pretty, but not aquatic. I've just looked it up, my ref. book says the bulb is poisonous.

Highly poisonous..... the bulb that is.... The others not dead - they die back this time of the year,only to come up next spring again....

Gloriosa superba is actually indigenous to South Africa and occurs in the sand dunes from the Moz border all the way into the Eastern Cape. It is definitely not an aquatic plant, yes the bulb is poisoness. Henk you should grow this one under your trees, it would really grow well there in your sand.

I'll see where i can find a spot - i'm kinda of full up with the crinums and various aggie hybrids etc.
