Hey all,
I have a Mustard Halfmoon male that i have in a spawning tank, have been conditioning him as well as the delta tale female.
I introduced them yesterday, the female is in a hurricane flute so he cant get to her. he has been flaring at her and she has been flaring back, noticed yesterday she has her vertical bars, however the male doesnt seem to want to create a bubblenest, he just flares at her alot.
how long must I keep them like this? Will he eventually start building his nest? Or should I take her out for a day or 2 and try again?

place her in a floating container, that would be better. Are there any floating plants in the tank?

Thats my male. Dont have one of the female yet!

I thought about that, but im concerend for when he does make a nest that me removing the floating container will disrupt the nest somewhat!

I have got floating plants in there some common coontail!

does the male attack her or does he just flare? if you are concerned about disrupting the nest try and place the female near the tank

i would say wait for him to build a nest, but place the female near the tank in his line of sight

Ok, well the male has started making a nest, not aexactly a great nest, but i will continue to monitor him and if it's not right by tonight, i'll take her out for a few days!
